Who I Am & Why I'm Writing
Blog entries are on the way. In the meantime, here's snapshot of who I am and my purpose behind starting this blog:
After being a student pastor for eleven years and a high school campus pastor for six years, I'm in the process of transitioning into the lead pastor role at Breezewood Church in Hope Mills, NC.
I love being a runner, a creator, a reader, and a preacher, but my favorite past-time is being a husband to Jill and a father to Parker and Davis. Though they are my greatest responsibility in life, being in this family feels more like a hobby. They're easy to love.
The purpose of the blog is rather simple; I want to become a better writer. I've written in journals for fifteen years but never with the intention of my words being read by people. I believe writing is a powerful tool for shaping hearts and minds and I believe every word that the Lord gives us, we should steward well.
So this blog is really about three things:
1. Accountability - Knowing that people will read my words, whether it's just a few or many, will give me the motivation I need to craft my words carefully and steward revelation wisely.
2. Stability - The first step to applying the principles of the kingdom and the Word of God to your life is to apply them to paper. If I don't write it down, I'll struggle to live it out. Writing has always served as a way for me to process spiritual truth and heavenly inspiration, this blog will just simply be another outlet for that.

3. Legacy - I want to leave something behind for my kids and their kids. I want my ceiling to be their floor which starts with my spiritual discoveries becoming their spiritual disciplines. I desire for what is powerful to me to be normal for them, thus enabling them to become far more than I could ever be.
